ARCHITECTURE
SHIPYARD
A Second Year Design Project, introducing 14 affordable dwellings on a former industrial site in Faversham. The dwellings follow the curve of the river and the angular rotation references the staggered boat houses that occupied the former site.
To protect the dwellings from flood risk, CLT boxes are raised above ground level either on top of a concrete storage facilities or on a 1.5m concrete raft. Exterior cladding is recycled metal sheeting from a local boat stripping yard.
